Furnace - 90% Tungsten Core Steel Tip Darts

The Red Dragon Furnace is a steel tip dart built on a two-layer barrel construction that combines a 90% tungsten core with a steel outer shell. The tungsten core runs through the centre of the barrel and forms the nose, while the steel shell carries the external profile and the grip pattern. The barrel is parallel with a rounded front and is machined with rounded and square grooves along its full length. It is sold in 22g and 24g, with a 2BA thread and fixed steel points.

Both weights measure 50.0mm long and 7.6mm wide. Concentrating the tungsten through the centre and nose places the balance point forward of the flight, which helps the dart settle into a consistent line rather than tail off. Using a steel outer shell instead of solid tungsten allows a slightly fuller diameter at the same playing weight, so there is more barrel surface in the hand without adding length — a familiar feel for players stepping up from brass. The grooves run the full length of the barrel and are rated by Red Dragon at grip level 3, a moderate texture that gives a clear reference point for finger placement without gripping so hard that it drags on release. The points are fixed, so changing them requires a repointing tool.
