A firm grip on a straight barrel, and six weights so finely stepped you could genuinely work out your ideal weight one gram at a time. The Opus runs 21g through 26g on a 51mm barrel, widening a tenth or two at each step from 6.7mm to 7.4mm.

Ranges this granular are rare, and they solve a real problem — most players land on a weight by accident and stay there. With single gram steps on an identical barrel you can actually test whether 23g or 24g suits you, rather than guessing between a 22g and a 25g that are different darts in three ways at once.

The grip is rated 4 out of 5, so it holds firmly right through the release. That suits a light hold and a late let-go more than a hard clamp.

The set is unusually well equipped: double flights and shafts, six Quick Points and a slim case, so you have spares from day one rather than after the first breakage.
