Who is Jamie Lewis?
Jamie Lewis is a Welsh darts player, born in 1991 and known as Fireball. He throws right-handed and plays Red Dragon darts. He was a leading youth player: in 2009 he won the World Youth Masters and the boys' singles at the WDF World Cup, and in 2012 he won two PDC Development Tour events.
He earned a PDC Tour Card at Q School in January 2012, aged 20. In 2013 he reached his first ranking final at the Gibraltar Darts Trophy, losing 6-1 to Phil Taylor.
How did Jamie Lewis reach the World Championship semi-finals?
Lewis qualified for the 2018 World Championship through the PDPA Qualifier, which put him in the preliminary round. At Alexandra Palace he beat Kenny Neyens, Jonny Clayton, second seed Peter Wright, James Richardson and Darren Webster. He averaged over 107 against Wright and beat Webster without dropping a set in the quarter-final.
He was the first player to come through the preliminary round and reach the semi-finals. There he met Phil Taylor in Taylor's final PDC event and lost 6-1 in sets.
A year later he reached the fourth round of the 2019 World Championship, losing 4-0 to Dave Chisnall.
What is Jamie Lewis doing now?
In September 2020 Lewis stepped away from darts to focus on his private life, and he later spoke publicly about an anxiety disorder. He qualified for the 2021 World Championship and lost 3-2 to Gerwyn Price in the second round.
After losing his Tour Card he moved to the WDF circuit, and in 2022 he won the Antwerp Open. He played the 2023 WDF World Championship, losing in the first round to Jarno Bottenberg. As of October 2026 he does not hold a PDC Tour Card and is not ranked on the PDC Order of Merit.
What darts does Jamie Lewis use?
Lewis plays Red Dragon darts, and Red Dragon makes his signature range. The Jamie Lewis Special Edition is a 90% tungsten, straight barrel with centre-weighted balance and a Razoredge grip, 50.8mm long in 23g and 25g. The 23g barrel is 6.9mm wide and the 25g is 7.1mm, so the two weights differ mainly in mass rather than shape.
