The slim shape trades that for speed and space. Less drag means the dart carries flatter, and a narrower flight leaves more of the treble free for the second and third dart, which is why so many professionals throw them.
The Plus shape sits between the two and is worth knowing about if a standard flight lifts your darts too much and a slim one drops them short. Moulded flights hold their aerofoil without relying on a fold, and heavier gauges take a strike from an incoming dart and spring back.
